The Highlanders hosted the first Ceilidh in the Flathead Valley. It was a huge success, giving many local folks their first taste of Ceilidh Dancing. From left members are; Craig Fountleroy, Josh Spencer, Andrew Harvey, Caleb Hutchins, Carol Thompkins, Hannah Hutchins, Emmette Atkins, Cris Johnson, and Jay Johnson.
Shaughnessey Hill Band from Libby, Montana, are always a big hit at our events. Their humor and great musical style get the ceilidh dancers up and moving!
Some members of the Celtic Cross Dancers helped organize and demonstrate dance steps at our Ceilidh in October.
Our party provided a whole new kind of 'line dancing' for these Montanans!
The Highlanders performed at the Columbia Falls Lion's Club Summer Concert Series at Marantette Park for the second consecutive year. We've already been scheduled for July 2001. It is a lovely little stage set in a beautiful community park. The perfect way to spend a summer evening!
The Summer Concert Series is very popular with folks in the community. Even one of our local banks wants to help promote it.
Best wishes to Jim Moyer, one of the original Montana Highlanders. Jim hasn't been feeling well of late, including some trips to the hospital, and we hope he gets better and gets back up on those pipes soon. Here, Jim is playing when the band was raising money selling hamburgers at Gary & Leo's IGA in Columbia Falls.
