We Want To Hear From You! Do You Like Our Music?
Well, as I'm
sure most of you know, Jack & Jon spent some time in the studio today, to put together
a compilation (or an "album" if you will) of their best stuff. Here's a
brief run down of the day's events.
10:00 - Jack drives to Evergreen and promptly wakes Jon up. Jon is rarin' to go . .
.
11:00 - Jack & Jon set off to find Jon's cousin who is going to hook them up with a
High Hat and a Crash to inhance their drum sounds. They are told to come back in 20
minutes.
11:10 - 11:35 - Jack & Jon eat at
Wendy's. Jon annouces he doesn't like Frostys and declines Jack's attempt to rename
themselvs "Dave Thomas."
11:40 - They track down a fellow drummer and get hooked up with the cymbol goods.
12:00 - After buying "5 .6 Guitar Picks
for $1" at Jones Music, they finally reach the Studio (or the upstairs
of Jack's house if you will).
12:30 - The final set-up is complete. They soundcheck. They get ready, set, go
and launch into "Punk Rock". Much to their excitment, they hear someone
yelling from outside. Is it Tim? Is it a Disgruntled Neightbor? No. It's
Pendle. Jake Pendle. They trash through Punk Rock as Pendle enters doing a
little dance.
1:00 - After BSin' and battling sound probelms, they play a shakey "Hunger
Strike" and then a new original called "Never Again," (working title) which
turns out to be one of the highlights of the day. The new cymbols enhance their
sound greatly. It's heating up in the studio and Jack heads to get huge glasses of
water for the whole gang. The sweat drips from their faces.
1:30 - Jon needs to feed his urge and Jack needs to get a battery for his camera. It
runs him $11.33. Shit. He is forced to scrounge through his glove compartment
for the .33 cents.
2:00 - Back at the studio. Jake shows off some of his new stuff, including
Semisonic's "Closing Time."
Things get crazy, when Jake requests Green Day's "She." After having some
early problems with the drum beat to "She" Jack figures something out and they
jam it out. Jack goes off on the drums . . . and is lovin' the cymbols.
2:30 - It's gettin' real hot. Nobody can focus. Jack and Jon slaughter
Everclear's "Santa Monica" and their own, "Aberdeen" before deciding
they need to get some dairy desserts from Dairy Queen.
3:45 - Back at it. Time to get serious. With a new set up for the vocals, they
try "Hunger Strike" again, and then pound out solid versions of Pearl Jam's "Long Road," which is
a new addition to their setlist, and a favorite NIN song, which I can't remember the
name of. Also, another new original song, "Sorry" (working title),
with an especially sweet break-down.
5:00 - After dubbing some tapes for Jake. Jack and Jon try to make it through their theme song, which barely happens,
and then close with "Punk
Rock."
