(Acts 16:30)

"I've been a pretty good person. I've tried my best to be good. Surely God will save me."
Question: How good is "good enough"?
Think of a person you feel to be most deserving of entering heaven. Mother Teresa?...The Pope?.... Now think of a person you feel is most deserving of going to hell. Adolph Hitler?....Mass murderer Ted Bundy?....Make a mental line graph in your mind, with these names at both ends representing heaven and hell. Now,.... where do you fit in? Exactly in the middle?..... a little more towards one or the other side? ..... Where is the "cut off"? Even though you are right in the middle, does the person who is just a fraction below you go to hell while you go to heaven? Is the "cut off" perhaps just a fraction above you, so you and everyone below you go to hell while all others above you go to heaven?
"Certainly a "loving God" would never allow anyone to go to hell. So therefore all of us go to heaven".
Question: What about God also being a "Just God"?
Where is the justice in both Mother Teresa, who devoted her entire life to helping the poor, and Adolf Hitler, who ordered the brutal torture and killing or millions of people having the exact same eternal destiny? What reason is there to abide by any sense of moral standard? Do you honestly feel comfortable with the notion that after a lifetime of even trying your best to be good, that someone like a mass murderer who feels no sense of remorse winds up in the same place as you?
"We will go through numerous lifetimes (reincarnation) until we achieve perfection".
Question: Do you Really want to bet your eternal life on it?
Think about it. If the believer in reincarnation is correct, we have nothing to worry about because we will always have another lifetime to "get it right" and finally reach heaven (or what they term as a state of eternal bliss). But, what happens if the believer in reincarnation is wrong? They have
condemned themselves to a place called eternal hell. However..... if the believer in Jesus Christ is correct, then our place in heaven is assured. And what happens to the believer in Jesus Christ if we are wrong? Well, then I guess we still get plenty of "lifetimes" to get it right then, don't we? ... You see? .... Betting on Christ Jesus is completely a win/win position. Whereas reincarnation is completely a win/lose position. Which bet is truly the most logical one for us to live our life by then?
"There is no heaven or hell anyways"
Question: Again,... Do you Really want to bet your eternal life on it?
Again, the above mentioned argument is worthy of consideration. If one is correct in believing there is no heaven or hell, we all have nothing to worry about because we will all be just plain dead and that's that. But, what if one is incorrect in believing there is no heaven and hell and there really is a heaven and there really is a hell? They have just
condemned themselves to a that place called hell, a place of eternal pain and torture. However..... if the believer in Jesus Christ is correct, then our place in heaven for all eternity is assured. And what happens to the believer in Jesus Christ if we are wrong and there really was no such thing as heaven or hell? Well, then I guess we die just like everyone else and that's that, don't we? ... You see? .... Betting on Christ Jesus is completely a win/win position. Whereas betting that there is no heaven and hell is completely a win/lose position. More accurately, that position is a lose/lose worse position. Which bet is truly the most logical one for us to live our life by
then?
Below you will find more articles that may help you answer the question of how we are saved. I must warn you
however. Although the articles are packed with very important and useful information, several of them are rather long (this is a deep issue, you know!). If the Lord has already been moving your heart and you wish to know what we must truly do to be saved, then go to the last
article and make that your prayer to Him and He is faithful to hear and receive you. God Bless
