Wetland Mitigation Assistance Through Conservation Districts
The wetland mitigation assitance program provides sites for the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) to mitigate for transportation impacts to wetlands. Mitigation services are provided through conservation distrcits.
310 Project Monitoring Project
Montana's Conservation Districts are responsible for the administration of the Streambank Protection Act. This law requires landowners to apply for permits prior to working in Montana streams.
This project will aid districts in the development of streambank workshops and outreach programs targeted to watersheds with high streambank modification activities.
Small Acreage Landowners Stewardship Program
Small acreage development is affecting Montana's Quality of Life. The stewardship program will help Northwest Montana property owners identify their goals and develop a management plan for those goals.
Regional Wastershed Planning
Strategies have been developed to assist conservation districts within Northwest Montana implement local initiatives to address key resource and conservation issues. When the necessary data has been gathered, a regional watershed plan will be published.
Reforestation Through Carbon Offset
This is a reforestation project for private forest lands in Montana. The program is designed to provide corporations a method of mitigating their carbon dioxide output. |
