Montana Watershed Inc. (MWI) is a nonprofit, tax exempt organization founded in 1996 to promote the conservation of natural resources through the establishment of watershed based activities. MWI organizes and carries out programs designed to support local conservation district watershed based initiatives.

ButtonGoals: Adequate financial and techinal resources for conservation districts to accomplish their job of locally-led natural resource conservation.

ButtonObjectives: Design and implement customized programs developed to specially address natural resource issues or areas of interest using specialists in the field.

ButtonBoard of Directors: MWI board of directors consists of representatives of conservation districts. Provisions are in place to allow for the participation of associate members. Two standing committees; the mitigation committee and the watershed committees are responsible for implementation of the major program initiatives.

ButtonStaff: Staff for MWI consists of an Executive Director with additional volunteer staffing provided by memebers of the board. Assistance on specific programs is provided by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC).
