Basketball- Kila School's basketball team, coached by Mike Hanson, includes grades 5-8, and both boys and girls.

The girls season starts in early September and runs through the middle of November, ending with a rural school basketball tournament. The team practices 5 days a week from 3-5 pm. Throughout the season they work on building endurance, ball skills, ball handling, and most importantly, teamwork.

At the rural tournament, the 5/6 grade team took 3rd place, and the 7/8 took 4th and also received the sportsmanship award.

The boys basketball season is much of the same as the girls. Their season begins immediately after the girls season ends, and continues through mid February. At the ending season tournament, the 5/6 grade team received 1st, and the 7/8 received 2nd.

Volleyball- Volleyball was held at Kila for it's second year in 1996. The team was started in 1995 by the 7th and 8th Grade girls which lobbied for the team and received donations from local businesses

The 1996 team was coached by Alexa Weitzel, and students in grades 5-8th were eligible to play. The season started in mid February and continued through April. The two teams( one 5/6 and one 7/8) played other schools in the valley and compete in 2 tournaments. Although the teams were unable to place in either tournament, all the players had and enormously fun season.

Wrestling- In 1995, Kila School's principal, Mr. Christofferson, started a wrestling club. Mr. C. had wrestled in his school career and thought it would be a good idea to teach interested students the fundamentals of wrestling.

So, beginning in February, Mr.C. held wrestling practice for all students grades 3 and up who were interested, 2 days a week for an hour and a half. During practice, the young wrestlers learned different poses and holds while practicing with partners.

After a month of practice, Kila School held an intramural wrestling tournament for all of the participants to conclude the wrestling season. Ribbons were awarded to winners of each category.
