Computers Applications- Computers Apps is a class focused on learning more about computers and their abilities. The class is taught by Mr. Tuszynski. Currently, the classes are learning how to use the entire Mircrosoft Works program. Once they are done with Microsoft Works, the class will learn how to use the computers when trading stocks.
"The Kila Quest"- "The Kila Quest" is the school journalism class. The 7th and 8th graders in this class produce a monthly paper. Taught by Mr. Funk, they work mainly on learning how to write good articles and produce a good, interesting paper. "The Kila Quest" can be accessed at "The Kila Quest"
Music- The Kila School music class, taught by Ms. Rommereim, is an introduction to music and rhythm. This semester's 7th and 8th grade classes have picked Guitars as their main focus. The class is learning different strumming patterns, chords, and also exploring the different kinds of rhythm and working on keeping a steady beat. While learning these fundamentals, the classes continue to learn new songs from their favorite artists.
Reading/Drama- Reading and Drama, which is taught by Mr. Funk is a class exploring some role playing and also learning to improve their silent reading skills, as well as oral. Right now they are doing what is called Dramatic Reading. In this they get fifty minutes to read any book they wish to the class.
Art- This class, taught by Ms. Diesenroth, is class learning the fundamentals of Art. They have learned basic skills like shading, perspective, simple sketching. Currently, the class made up of 7th and 8th graders, are making Plaster Aparis masks of their own faces. After the plaster dries they prepare it for painting and then they will paint them according to their own taste.
Spanish- Ms. Rommereim teaches a basic Spanish class. This 7th and 8th grade class is learning how to speak, read, and learn different parts of the Spanish Language and culture. They start with learning body parts, and end up somewhere around doing a fashion show in Spanish.
