 Roll Backs..........

When finishing the stop allow time for the horse to get balanced again before asking for the roll back.

A good tip for this is to count at the end of the stop-- one thousand one, one thousand two, then roll back.

Now, a good key for a nice roll back is to imagine you are working a cow on a parallel line, You are moving with the cow and it stops and goes the other way, this is where you have your slide stop... now the cow has left and you are sitting still... you want to verbally say to yourself "go catch the cow". The cow has left and is getting away, this will cause you to follow through your roll back.

One important thing is although this is broken down into separate parts, you want your roll back to be quick, relaxed, yet powerful. This takes timing and body control on your horse.
