Thank you for
considering student opinion I would like to express my appreciation to all of those involved in the education, administration , and calculation of the recent survey regarding student opinions about the proposed student center. I realize that some will argue that the survey wasn't adequate, that it was biased, or that the cross-section didn't encompass enough of the student body, but in seeing the results there is a large amount of varying information on what students feel they need from our school as well as their concerns and problems with the center. All of the comments are being read by a member of the committee, and all are being considered. Overall, this was a project that gave us a chance to have some input into the planning of the student center, and I know that I speak for many when I say that we appreciated that opportunity. Now that the survey has revealed support for the student center, I would like to see the idea progress so that the finished product will work for the entire student body. I believe the only way to do this is to continue to get input from the students. If you are passionate about what you believe the student center should be like, come to a meeting. If you didn't get a chance to fill out a survey and feel have opinions you want expressed, come tell us! If you need more information and are interested in learning and helping formulate ideas, come and ask questions. If you are opposed to the center and you can express your reason for this opposition, and help find ways to alleviate your woes, come and give your ideas. There are student meetings about the student center every Thursday during both lunches in the Pub. Since this idea is now off the ground, let's make sure by student involvement and input, that it stays realistic enough to serve its intended purpose. senior Sarah Bohlman |
