Appinokwis seeks culture
in Europe
While the goal for most students this
Spring Break is to work on their tans, junior Mark Ruby dreams of knighthood.
"Im going to perform some
incredible feat of diplomacy and theyll have no choice but to knight me," says
Ruby.
From witnessing the changing of the
guard in London to attempting to punt down the River Cams, the kids in the National Honor
Societywill be having the time of their lives this Spring Break.
"I cant wait to visit the
home land of Sean Connery," says junior Roger Rowe. "And purchasing my own
kilt."
This trip to Europe was the ingenious
idea of National Honor Society supervisors Jean Barragan and Susan Arthur. Both new to
their duty this year, the teachers have made it their goal to give the Honors Society a
new name.
"The change in National Honor
Society has been a significant one," says senior Cassie DeZort. "Ms. Arthur and
Mrs. Barragan have just got it going, its been a complete 180 (degree) turn."
The pair have opened the door for
these students, not just in traveling to Europe, but also in getting them active in the
community. Continued |
