Kids start their days right with new breakfast program

Barely half of American adults eat breakfast on a given day, but if the new FHS food program has its way, there wouldn’t be any students going to first period on an empty stomach. Thanks to the new food program at FHS, students who can’t afford a breakfast to start off their day will have the opportunity to eat breakfast no matter what. F U L L  S T O R Y

Students meet the Conrads on A&E

On Nov. 8, FHS seniors Andy Schottelkorb and Tim Wood found themselves sitting in front of their televisions, anxiously watching as one of Kalispell’s most endearing landmarks was given a place in television history. On the A&E network’s “America’s Castles,” the Conrad Mansion was given star treatment in a special about pioneer mansions, and Schottelkorb and Wood were an active part of the experience. Students see Washington, D.C., close up

Greek Olympics take over World History classes

College trips let students look before they leap

Heading off to college without seeing the campus first is like jumping out of a plane without double-checking your parachute. Visiting prospective schools gives students a chance to check out the facility so they don’t leave a crater when they hit the ground. Senior Danielle Deisenroth, for one, appreciated her visits to Cornell and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. F U L L  S T O R Y

JROTC marches in Grizzlies’ home game

Sophomore Crystal Silva recalls preparing to walk out in front of the crowd. Her heart started beating faster and butterflies were going kamikaze in her stomach. She knew that her team was well prepared, and as Silva made a final check of her uniform and straightened her shoulders, the JROTC color guard marched out and led the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance.  F U L L  S T O R Y
