AAUW sells books by the inch

Ever hear of paying for books by the inch?
That’s how books are purchased at the annual American Association of University Women book sale at the Kalispell Center Mall, today through Sunday. The sale is held to raise money for scholarships and other programs.

“The whole community looks forward to this book sale every year,” said AAUW member Marsha Sultz. “It’s a great place to find books at a really inexpensive price.”

The hours of the book sale will be: Friday 5 p.m.- 9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.- 7 p.m., and Sunday 11a.m. - 3 p.m. Friday is preview night and there’s a $5 charge. The proceeds go toward two $500 scholarships for graduating seniors, one $500 scholarship for a student at FVCC wishing to continue his or her education.

“I hope that students take the opportunity to fill out an application,” said Sultz, regarding the scholarships. “Although it’s not a huge scholarship, every $500 counts.”

AAUW is organizing the sale. JROTC is helping move books to the sale from pick up sites and the Gemini Girls program is also helping to organize the sale.
