Girls and Boys cross country finish first and second
Every year as the fall sports season winds down, Flathead’s cross country teams find a way to the top of the field — and this year was no exception. At the state meet in Helena, on Oct. 25, the Flathead boys won the state title taking home a record of 26.2 points. The Bravettes fell just two points short of the title, losing to CMR 47.2 to 49.2. Bravette sophomore Amber Arvidson came away with the girls’ individual title in class AA with a time of 18:23.

Bravettes basketball celebrates 25-year anniversary with a victory
Tradition doesn’t just lace Flathead’s history in girls’ basketball, but saturates it. On October 24-25, the 25th anniversary of Bravettes basketball was celebrated. With a standing ovation honoring former coach Joe McKay, the players of the past and present along with advocates of Bravettes basketball, gathered to reminisce and enlighten.

Girls soccer falls one short of championship
The Flathead Bravettes soccer team had only allowed two goals throughout the entire season, but Helena Capital was able to more than double that number, en-route to a 5-0 victory in the state championship game Nov. 1 in Butte.

Grubb Classic shows football players the money

Everyone has seen their share of little boys playing backyard football, but for some, the fun of falling in the mud and playing against friends has never gone way. The experience and joy of playing has followed them through high school.

But now it is more than “just a game” — it’s serious money. The Grubb State Classic, organized by senior Jarod Grubb, opened Oct. 25 with $80 at stake.
