Students have a ball at new game
Smack a hard blue rubber ball as hard as humanly possible with your hand and what do you get?

Handball — a sport that is not only giving FHS students a sport that they can play throughout their lives, but is bringing FHS teachers and students together outside of the classroom.

FHS swim teams place second and third at state tournament
On Feb. 6 and 7, Flathead’s girls’ and boys’ swim teams got second and third at the state meet in Missoula, but the teams was unsurpassed when it came to personal bests and morale, according to team members.

Volleyball team knocks down first win of season
Flathead head volleyball coach Maureen Boyle said at the beginning of the ’97-’98 season that her team would improve as the year went along —and Feb. 5, the Bravettes took a major step toward that improvement by notching their first win of the year, 15-11, 5-15, 15-12, and 16-14 over Helena High.

Alpine Club unites to make annual trip to Fernie, B.C.
When senior Moira McKinnon woke up Jan. 31 to the sound of her alarm clock, her “relaxing” day on the slopes was just beginning. Getting a late start after oversleeping about 30 minutes, McKinnon missed the Alpine Club bus to Fernie, B.C., and had to drive herself. But according to McKinnon, the stress was worth it.
