Parents, not government, need to turn off T.V. violence
 

In years’ past, residents of the Flathead Valley rarely had to worry about violent crime. After all, that sort of thing doesn’t happen here. Everybody knew that murder is a problem of big cities, not small, conservative towns.
 Not any more.

 

Seniors leave high school for the great unknown of ‘real’ life

Amidst smelly gym socks, testosterone-crazed “dudes” playing football across the hall and body odor, there is something in Senior Hall that makes the high school experience bearable — the senior countdown.

 

MAILBAG:  Arrow editorial brings up failings of U.S. history education

 

How heartening to read the editorial by Dennis Meredith concerning the hypocritical behavior of the United States government. Why heartening? It is most unusual that a student who has gone through this system has managed to arrive at this conclusion. That a graduate of Flathead High School is aware of the School of the Americas is worth a letter to the editor.

Lack of concert venue in Kalispell not solved

 

With the newly proposed ValleyDome, I’ve heard a lot of  talk about big musical acts coming to Kalispell, but I wouldn’t hold your breath if you’re waiting for a steady stream of rock bands to roll through town via the dome.  Kalispell obviously lacks a place for musical acts to play, but a town of 17,000 is better suited for something smaller
