After starting the season 3-0, the Bravettes basketball team lost its first two conference games this weekend against the Helena High Bengals and the Helena Capitol Bruins.
Against the Bengals on Friday, the Bravettes lost despite leading 24-22 at the half. Trailing 46-44, Darcy James missed a desperate three-point attempt with four seconds left that would have given Flathead the win.
The loss overshadowed a 14-point performance by Flathead's Shannon Grace. "We've got more work to do," said Bravettes head coach Dennis Lattimer. "We had a lot of problems dealing with pressure in the half court."
Saturday against Helena Capitol, the Bravettes came up short, losing 48-42 to the Bruins despite a 13-point performance by junior Darcy James .
The Bravettes were outscored 17-6 in the fourth.
The Bravettes travel to Missoula to play Sentinel and Big Sky this weekend.
