Drama students take a stab at Shakespeare

A left jab. A right hook. A quick uppercut to the chin.

Most of us can admit that at some time in our lives, we've all wished to resort to these tactics to solve our problems. But usually the consequences of these actions - from broken noses to bruised egos hold us back. But that wasn't the case in the auditorium on Oct. 1, when punches were flying and swords were thrusting.

Theater arts tackles technical cahallenges in upcoming play

Creating a giant vacuum tube, a wishing well, a magical boat and a glass elevator are just a few of the many challenges facing theater arts teacher David Hashley's block 1 class.

A combination of tech theater and acting, the theater arts class is undertaking the huge task of creating a believable world for the characters of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, a play that runs Oct. 19-24.

Horns tooting, drums beating and a banjo strumming welcomed a few fortunate FHS classes into the auditorium during fifth period on Friday, Oct. 4th.

Outfitted in colorful suspenders and cartoon ties, the Blue Street Jazz Band of Fresno, Calif. performed a variety of jazz tunes- from early blues to swing, to Mardi Gras .

'That Thing You Do!' has character, but lacks a theme

Tom Hank's roots are simple: a transvestite in "Bosom Buddies" hits it lucky and becomes a huge actor. Amazingly enough, he had the talent to become the first man since Spencer Tracy to win two consecutive Best Actor Academy Awards. As has become a custom with all successful actors, Tom is now "big" enough to write and direct his own feature motion picture.
