Picture the Chicago Bulls without Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman. Or the Dallas Cowboys without Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin. Now, picture the Flathead Braves in 1996 without seniors Josh Herzog, Jake Winters and Bill Henderson.

Antonietti ready for new season

After leading the Bravettes basketball team to a 214-69 record over the past 12 years, including four state second places, coach Joe Antonietti needed a change. Antonietti retired from the girls team last season to take the job as head boys coach for Flathead High.

Bravettes advance to state tournament

It had been six years since the Bravettes basketball team had beaten Hellgate in Missoula. But Nov. 7, the Bravettes changed that pattern with a convincing 51-36 victory over the lady Knights and then followed the next night at home with a 69-52 win over the Butte Bulldogs. The win against Butte secured Flathead an automatic bye into the state tournament in Billings, Thursday through Saturday.
