Freshmen may appear in the halls of FHS, if a $3 million bond is passed next Tuesday to allow expansion and remodeling of FHS.
If it passes, the 600 or so 9th graders will move to FHS from the junior high, filling a gap caused by the removal of 400 students to the tech center.
The Junior High would then become a 7th and 8th grade school, with the future of Linderman still undecided.
Some students are upset about the freshmen coming to FHS.
"I think the freshmen should stay at the Junior High, although I realize it's crowded too," said senior Leah Anthony. "Although the extra space would be nice."
The addition to FHS would be mainly across 5th Avenue, where the vocational building is now.
It can only happen if the tech center is built, although the tech center bond can't be passed without the FHS expansion approved.
Said Mark Dailey: "The only reason they aren't together as one vote is because the bond language forced us to separate them."
