Three to serve as pages

Most students would jump at the chance to spend an entire semester in Washington, D.C.. That's exactly what junior George Nelson did Jan. 26th, when he left Kalispell to go work as a page for Sen. Max Baucus.

"I think it'll be interesting. You can't really learn about government out of a text book," said Nelson. "You have to be in the middle of it to understand it."

Nelson will do secretarial work and run errands for Baucus.

Paging a little closer to home, in Helena, are seniors Kelsi McBroom, Hilary Diedi and junior Kari Hill. McBroom and Diedi will page for Rep. Arnie Mohl, and Hill will page for Rep. Tim Dowell. Both students will go to Helena for a week.

Said McBroom: "We always hear about the things they do and this'll give me the chance to see how they actually do it."
