Early grads' shortcut means missing the best of times
In less than a week, some seniors will forever leave the crowded halls of Flathead High School. Never again will they have to hunt for chairs in the cafeteria or race for a parking space as the clock ticks toward 8:25. To juniors and sophomores struggling with their own burnout, an end to tedious homework assignments and huge exams sounds incredibly appealing. But I believe graduating early defies the whole Flathead High School experience.
I've seen far too many friends burned by crumbling relationships this year. Why? Too many of us ruin our relationships by losing focus. We forget why the relationship started in the first place, lose that passionate edge so vital to healthy relationships, and this only leads to serious heartache.

It's late in the fourth quarter, and your team is mounting a comeback while trailing 22-17. With 10 seconds left, the ball is on the opposition's 20-yard line. A touchdown will give your team the victory, but it's already fourth down. You can't turn away, but you're too nervous to watch. The quarterback takes the snap, and is immediately pressured by the defense. After getting away from three linebackers, who could easily be stunt doubles for Free Willy, the QB finally finds an open receiver, the tight end, in the back of the end zone. The quarterback makes the throw and the ball is caught, and the crowd goes wild.
Ladies and gentlemen, I stand before you a man vindicated by the country's desire for change and a brighter America. I have now the plans, the tools, and the talent to build my bridge to the Twenty-First Century. I can build it with no worries. In fact, it's essentially done, but I now have to get people to cross it. I need the most courageous and vivacious people in the world, so I have asked you to venture onto it with me.
