Wassink aims for strong ending to career at FHS
During four impressive years at FHS - both in the classroom and on the field - senior Chad Wassink has earned more than good grades and athletic accomplishments: he has earned respect.

The prosecuting attorney paced the courtroom; they followed with intent gazes. The lawyer argued the defendant's guilt; they measured every word. The witness faltered for the briefest moment; they viewed the scene skeptically.
Although a student protest at KJHS on March 17 was brought to a halt after the arrival of local police and TV news crews, the protest didn't end when the students walked back inside on Friday, the day before spring break.
Astronomy club views once-in-a-lifetime comet Hale-Bopp
The brightest comet in two decades approached the Big Sky, bringing with it high hopes for students during spring break. While some FHS students were taking spring break road trips, astronomy club members joined millions of other comet watchers around the world as the comet Hale-Bopp flew within 120 million miles of the Earth's atmosphere, on March 22.

FHS students travel the country for spring break
Just like the wild birds that migrate south for the winter, FHS students traveled to warmer - or at least different - corners of the world for spring break. Even though they were several months late escaping the most severe bouts of snow, many students eagerly awaited the chance to flee the snowy confines of the valley to seek that long-forgotten object called sun.
