School District Five charting new direction for FHS Fears of overcrowding, harsh transitions for satellite school students, and an impression that new plans might increase the already shocking dropout rate drew in about 200 concerned parents and employees of District Five, on Sept.16. Schweitzer makes a run for the voters and talks to teens, too. Brian Schweitzer, a Whitefish farmer fed up with current government policies, is making a big push to unseat incumbent Republican Sen. Conrad Burns. Dennehy hired as new Activities Director Flathead High School has a new activities director this year, although he is not new to FHS. Instead of educating students in world history, economics, or coaching athletes, Mark Dennehy is coordinating 19 activity programs, school clubs and facilities, advising the student council, and helping out with scheduling and attendance. Despite student skepticism, cameras only on the lookout for crime Are the new surveilance cameras measures of security or an invasion of privacy? The current debate among FHS students over the new cameras in the hallways will become more significant, as cameras are scheduled to be installed in the parking lots, as well.
