Tresler
helps lead Bravettes through season
After three hard days of hard work and good teamwork the Bravettes soccer team placed fifth in the state competition. After losing 1-0 to Bozeman, the girls went on to beat Sentinal and Whitefish, 3-2, 2-1. The first game that the girls played was against Bozeman. The Bravettes lost in overtime, 1-0. "I was disappointed when we lost to Bozeman," said junior Stephanie Hogan. "We played well and deserved to win." The Bravettes went on to play Missoula Sentinal ; the Bravettes won 3-2. "During the Sentinal game we got behind, we were playing short," said Coach John Stephens. "This group of girls seems to play better under pressure." The last game that the Bravettes played was against Whitefish. Through an even match, Whitefish won with a score of two to one. "We played really hard but just couldnt get the ball in the net," said sophomore Savannah Tyree. The Bravettes have many good luck rituals that they do before each game. "Before our games we will pass out secret sister presents, read good luck notes from our parents and friends and get in a big circle and pray," said Stephanie Hogan. "We had a pretty good year and we gradually improved each game," said Stephens "Senior Jana Tresler was put at forward at the beginning of the year," said John Stephens. "She scored our winning goal in the last 30 seconds of the Sentinel game and she scored our goal against Whitefish. She is our leader in goals and assists."
