Volleyball hungry for state

| The
volleyball team shows team spirit while performing a cheer between
points. |
Play
like you have never lost. Dance like nobody is watching. The Bravettes
varsity volleyball team is doing just that and proving it with their incredible
season.
"The cheers that we do in volleyball are a way
to pump each other up when we do something good," said junior Edralyn
Harmon. "You don't really think about the cheer because it just comes
with excitement."
The volleyball team is heading to state in good shape
with an 9-2 record. This year the team is doing a lot better than teams
in the past.
"I'm really excited. For the most part they've
all worked really hard to get here," said coach Moreen Boyle. "We
expect to be playing our best volleyball. We hope that the season's success
will carry all the way through the tournament."
"I think that if we all pull it together and have
the mental attitude then we will be unstoppable at state," said senior
Sarah Lenoch. "It would be awesome if we win state for volleyball
because two state championships (girls basketball and girls volleyball)
in one year would be phenomenal. It also helps the all-state trophy."
The players are getting very pumped up for their state
competition, which takes place March 15-17.
"At the beginning of the season and before every
game we set goals and we keep them in the back of our minds while we're
playing," said senior Lauren Casey. "We do that so that we know
what we are fighting for."
With six seniors on the team there is a lot of leadership
when the Bravettes varsity volleyball team steps on and off the court.
"The seniors have been playing together for a long
time and they have good chemistry together," said Boyle.
