Something for nothing - the napster issue
"There is no such thing as a free lunch." According to this wise old saw, all economic products must be produced by someone's effort. A free burger at McDonald's isn't really free because someone has to pay the farmer who raised the cattle, the trucker who shipped the meat, and the teenager in the restaurant who cooked it. In essence, you can't get something for nothing.

Civility on the decline in modern America
Ever notice that anyone going slower than you is an idiot, but anyone going faster is a maniac? Or that an upraised middle finger is the universal sign of contempt and scorn?

Letters to the editor
The other day I was shooting a game of pool with a few people on student council. While discussing a few of the issues that confront our school, I found myself asking, "could student council do anything to help?"
