Students lend helping hands for the holidays
 Derek Ulvila and Ryan Saxby stand rigid in the blustering wind and snow. Their toes are numb, and they have heard enough country imitations of Christmas songs to last them a decade or two. But they muster the strength to smile and say "Merry Christmas!" as Tidyman's customers pass through the door.

Flathead basketball primed for a winning season
   The Flathead Braves boy's basketball team has no plans to make this a rebuilding season. They're built.
   After the team opened the season on Dec. 8 with an 87-58 win over the Great Falls Bison, they proved to any doubters that they came to play.

Student goes to Washington, D.C. thanks to scholarship
