Each year Cherry Valley celebrates Literacy Week, usually in early spring. It is a very busy week with many different literacy activities.
We have guest readers coming into the school all week to read to classes. We have "Read Your Clothes Days" and this year because of St Patrick's day we had a "If You Love to Read, Wear Green Day". The biggest day is when we have our Literacy Fair and "Book Character Dress Up Day". Literacy activities take over our gym all day and we have an open house for family and parents in the evening. Our goal is to demonstrate to our community the many and varied approaches we have to literacy and how they can support their own children.
