OUR
VERY OWN
ARTIST,
HELEN
Helen Jennings, a special friend (and sister!) of
Mrs. Rochin
visited our class and shared her work with us! We
read the story The Nutcracker Ballet and then
let our imagination take over!

| Helen paints a picture.
I learned how to paint using acrylic paints. Kristine |
We learned all about canvas fabric and acrylic paints. Helen
showed us how to imagine a painting and then draw it
with pencil first.
| I learned to do a good job. Don't
play with the paint! Kylie |
| I
learned that I liked being an artist! Codi |

Wow! Helen brought everyone their own piece of canvas and some
acrylic paints.

| I painted a Christmas tree. I got
the idea from the Nutcracker Ballet story. Sean |
| We used the paper plates for the
paints (our palette!). Katie |
| I liked when Mrs. Rochin's sister
taught us how to paint. Katelynn |
| I
liked painting a picture of when the Nutcracker turns into a
handsome prince. Roylee |
| I
learned that you can write on canvas. Amy |

| I painted a picture of the mice
from the Nutcracker story. Aaron |
| I
learned how to draw good pictures. Ariana |

| I like drawing and painting. My picture
was of snowflakes that taste like sugar! Kamiah |
| Helen and Mrs. Rochin; sisters and
friends! |

Thank you Helen for showing us
that we can be artists too!
All we need is:
a lot of imagination,
a piece of canvas,
a little paint
and
some time to have fun!
